Pacific VBC Oregon

“...all about the girls!”

About Us

We at Pacific VBC Oregon are committed to providing each and every player a positive and memorable experience. We promise to provide instructions on playing the game of volleyball in a positive manner. Our goal is to field competitive teams at whatever level each team competes in.

Pacific VBC Oregon was formed in 1996 upon the dissolution of the Crusader Volleyball Club due to changes in OSAA regulations regarding high school coach participation in club volleyball. It quickly became apparent that a large gap existed for girls who wanted to play for clubs on the west side of Portland. Since our formation we have provided a club that has fielded players from all over the city.

Our club motto “… all about the girls!” is something that we live by on a daily basis. We believe that family comes first, school second and volleyball third.

Guaranteed playing time

As a member of the club, each girl is guaranteed playing time no matter what team she is on. However, we do not guarantee equal playing time for each player. Every girl is guaranteed to play in at least one game at a given position in every match of morning pool play at every tournament. Playing time will revert to coach’s discretion for bracket play and championship matches.

Grade point policy

Each and every member of the club signs an agreement between herself, her parents and her coach that she will maintain a 2.65 (B-) GPA for the duration of the season. Coaches will collect copies of report cards and progress reports to verify that each player is living up to their end of the contract. A link is provided below for you to see a copy of the agreement that is signed at the beginning of the season.

Physical conditioning

It is the responsibility of each and every player to achieve and maintain a high level of physical fitness. You are playing for our club because you want to improve your skills. You cannot do so without being physically fit. It is up to you to do our program at home on your own. We cannot take valuable time that should be spent practicing with a ball to get you into shape. It is up to you to keep up with the workouts.

Volleyball Festival / Reno

Pacific VBC Oregon expects to field all of its teams at this tournament. We believe that this tournament represents the culmination of a long winter season and treats it as such. It is a wonderful opportunity for each girl to experience the largest single sporting event other than the summer Olympic games in the world. Over 900 teams participate bringing an average of over 12,000 girls, 2,000 coaches and 2,000 officials and tournament staff together for a week long tournament. You may view pictures of our participation in the tournament last summer in our “photo gallery” section. Links are provided to the tournament site in our “Reno / Festival” section of our website for your perusal.
