Coach Desi's Corner ============================================================= Power League Qualifier Tournament - Pacific University January 7, 2006 After a long and exhausting day at Pacific University, Coach Kris and I have discovered a new sense of pride in each young lady that makes up the 16’s Force! From the first to the last point the 16’s played with persistence, determination, and heart. Each and every player contributed to the team in numerous ways throughout the day. However, a few individuals stood out. Libero, Anna, was a strong leader and passer in the back row, bringing a strong presence to the defense. We want to recognize Sugi for her “scrappiness” and all around relentless pursuit of the ball – she gave 110% for every second she played! We’d also like to recognize Alyssa for her aggressiveness and overall consistency with hits and serves. She had a great positive attitude towards herself and her team. She stepped up her game today. Although we experienced some frustration with instances of limited team communication on the court, Coach Kris and I recognize this team’s overall ability to come together and play as one unified team. We are really looking forward to the 2007 season because we are starting with great team chemistry and work ethic. As we continue to work on our fundamental skills, we anticipate great growth and success for this team throughout the season. Keep up the great work Force! ~ Coach Desi Winning isn't everything, but wanting to win is.
