Tryouts for the upcoming 2008-2009 winter season will be held once again at the Knight Center, Jesuit High School. Please fill out the registration form at the CEVA Website and make a print out of the registration form. Bring this form with you at your tryouts. Click on the link below for the registration form. Updated 2008-2009 Season Tryout schedules are as follows: Registration: Sunday November 2th, Time 6:00PM Tryout: Sunday November 2nd Time 6:30PM - 8:30PM Monday November 3rd Time 6:30PM - 8:30PM Location: Jesuit High School Tryout fee: $20 Registration: Sunday November 23rd, Time 6:00PM Tryout: Sunday November 23rd Time 6:30PM - 8:30PM Monday November 24th Time 6:30PM - 8:30PM Location: Jesuit High School Tryout fee: $20 TRYOUT PHILOSOPHY Pacific VBC Oregon holds two-day tryouts. Though it is not mandatory to be there both days, we strongly suggest your participation on both days. The 1st day of tryouts will focus on the individual skills and athleticism of each candidate. Drills will be run to give the coaches a picture of your serving skills, passing skills, setting ability, lateral quickness, jump reach and finally, your ability and willingness to take instruction.The 2nd day of tryouts will focus on offensive and defensive knowledge and skills in game situations. Additionally, we focus on how each candidate handles the stress of game situations. At the start of the 2nd day of tryouts, each player will be asked if they are ready and willing to commit to playing for Pacific VBC Oregon should they be chosen at the end of the session. No player shall assume that they are guaranteed spot on the club roster because they have played for Pacific VBC Oregon in the past. The advantage for all past players is the fact that the coaches have seen you play in the past and will take that into consideration. Otherwise, every position on a team is earned at tryouts. The final roster will be selected on the 2nd day of tryouts. A committee of our coaches will have input into each decision, with the final decision being the prerogative of the head coach.
